Energy Saving Electricity Generation

Cogeneration is a system that produces both electricity and heat from a single fuel source—typically natural gas, diesel, or biomass. The heat generated during electricity production is recovered and used to produce hot water or steam.

By making effective use of energy that would otherwise be wasted, cogeneration systems significantly improve efficiency and help reduce CO2 emissions. Compared to conventional power generation, they require less fuel for the same output, resulting in lower environmental impact.

Operating our cogeneration system (CP35D2) for one hour reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 29 % compared to supplying the same amount of electricity and heat using grid power and a natural gas boiler. This improvement is achieved by capturing and utilizing the heat generated during power production.

As carbon-neutral fuels such as hydrogen and synthetic methane (e-methane) become more widely adopted, and cogeneration technologies continue to advance, even greater reductions in CO2 emissions can be expected.
